About Dr. Samino Scott
A Living Testament to Transformation
Dr. Samino Scott's story embodies the power of education to break cycles and create opportunity. As a former resident of the Oakland County Children's Village at the age of 16, Dr. Scott understands firsthand the challenges facing justice-involved youth. His journey from that experience to earning a Ph.D. in Educational Studies and serving in leadership roles at major universities in Michigan demonstrates what's possible when education and opportunity intersect.
Dr. Scott has served as Community Affairs Director at United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Executive Director of the Pontiac Collective Impact Partnership, and in his current role as Chief of Project Management and Initiatives at Oakland County Children’s Village. In each role, he has mobilized resources, strengthened partnerships, and inspired systems change to improve educational and economic outcomes.
As a keynote speaker and facilitator, Dr. Scott has addressed audiences ranging from corporate leaders to graduating students, including delivering the keynote at Oakland Community College, where he shared his message of living a purpose-driven life.
Dr. Scott’s personal experience gives him a unique lens: he understands both the challenges and the untapped potential of those navigating difficult circumstances. Today, through his consulting practice, he partners with organizations to develop collective impact strategies, expand college and career readiness initiatives, and deliver engaging talks that inspire action.
Dr. Samino Scott believes in the power of collaboration, the promise of education, and building systems that help every young person create a future filled with purpose, dignity, and success.
